What we do
We Transform Communities Through Agroforestry
We combat climate change and food insecurity by training rural families in Mali in sustainable agroforestry techniques, seed banking, and environmental restoration.
Through our four-year comprehensive program, we help communities build resilience against droughts, floods, and soil degradation while creating sustainable livelihoods.
After training, families often become community leaders in environmental restoration, with a palpable sense of empowerment and food sovereignty throughout their villages.
How we do it
Every agroforestry initiative begins with establishing community ownership and participation.
Families commit to the full four-year training program and provide labor to grow seedlings, transplant trees and install living fences.
Communities contribute local materials and participate in seed bank creation, while women and men work together in equal partnership as part of our gender-inclusive approach.
Our technicians provide hands-on training in sustainable practices, but the entire process relies on community engagement and traditional knowledge integration. As a result of their active participation, communities take full ownership of their environmental restoration projects.
The result: A sustainable, community-driven transformation that builds long-term resilience.
Long Term Impact
Mali Dynamique believes environmental restoration is a ladder out of poverty and climate vulnerability, helping pull future generations toward food security and economic stability.
Building that resilience often depends on other factors, such as sustainable water management, diversified income sources, and community empowerment.
With this in mind, Mali Dynamique takes a holistic approach to rural development - combining agroforestry with seed banking, market gardening, and environmental restoration projects that help families achieve food sovereignty while contributing to Mali's Great Green Wall initiative.
Impact:
-
239,175 trees transplanted creating property boundaries and shelter
-
34 kilometers of live fencing installed for protection and erosion control
-
100+ families achieving food security through seed banks
-
142% increase in women's participation in agroforestry practices
